"Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."~ Margaret Mead
The Bridgeton Renaissance League is a community based non profit organization formed to promote the arts, history, and beautification of the Historic City of Bridgeton, New Jersey. The League had very humble beginnings. It was conceived by a small group of local citizens over a cup of coffee in a local restaurant. We came together to discuss our community and its possibilities and soon learned that we shared a common interest.
We each shared a commitment to create a City of prosperity rich in the arts. One which valued and preserved its historic architecture, and provided a beautiful and clean environment for everyone. We share the unwavering belief that with a little bit of elbow grease and a strong commitment to our common goal, we could bring about a renaissance in our fair city.

The beautiful architecture of Bridgeton is a valuable asset to all Bridgetonians...and to the entire nation.
The Bridgeton Renaissance League has engaged in beautification projects throughout the City and with the help and assistance from the City sponsors the annual "Christmas Historic House Tour" showcasing numerous historic properties decorated for the holiday season along with a unique event held at The New Sweden Farmstead Museum sharing the sights and sounds of a 17th Century Swedish Christmas.
Our aspirational projects include a Designer Showcase Home; a Victorian park in our downtown; the establishment of a performing arts center; providing educational and entertaining programming; and to preserve our valuable, non renewable, resources found in our historic architecture.
Bridgeton has the largest historic district in the State of New Jersey with a legacy that spans over 300 years. Once lost, our historic properties cannot be replaced. Our annual Christmas tour is our way of sharing the varied architecture found throughout our City with our residents and our visitors. Many who join us for our annual program are surprised to learn how magnificent our fair city is.
We invite you to explore our website and to learn more about our projects and annual events. If you are interested in joining the League, visit our page entitled "Join the League" and we will welcome your involvement with open arms.
